However, this is complemented by stronger quarterly annualized growth throughout the year, reflecting an economy poised for recovery.

Tatiana Bailey, Ph.D.: Economist Update
Tatiana Bailey has her master’s in applied economics and her doctorate in public health, both from the University of Michigan. In the economic development field, Dr. Bailey presents nation-wide, year-round on the current national, state and local economies. She also participates in various economic development initiatives and has particularly focused on closing the skills gap. In the health care arena, Dr. Bailey has focused on programs that aim to increase access and quality while reducing costs. She also presents to audiences who wish to be better informed about the general framework of the health care system in the United States.
Dr. Bailey founded and is director for the nonprofit, Data-Driven Economic Strategies (DDES), which focuses on rigorous, unbiased monthly economic reporting and workforce development initiatives particularly for underserved communities. DDES produces monthly economic reports for various Colorado cities, and an international one for a large association in Washington D.C. She also serves as an economic development resource to both businesses and government. Dr. Bailey is an appointee to the Colorado governor’s council of economists, and an appointee to the Pikes Peak State College Advisory Council. In 2016, Dr. Bailey was a “Woman of Influence,” and in 2018, was named “Business Leader of the Year.”

Jim DiBiase: Commercial Real Estate Updates
As a Principal of Olive Real Estate Group since 1992, Jim has gained the reputation as one of Colorado Springs’ leading real estate professionals. Jim’s broad background in corporate services, tenant representation, office and hotel development are unique to Colorado Springs. Throughout his career, Jim has completed transactions exceeding $1,000,000,000.
Jim’s hotel development experience includes the Tejon-Costilla Dual Branded Marriott hotel, the Colorado Springs Airport Dual Branded Marriott project, both of which are Opportunity Zone projects, as well as the Fairfield Inn and Suites Monument. Office development experience includes expansion of RT Logic/ Kratos, AeroSpace Technology Center I and II, Woodmen Office Campus II, III, and IV buildings, and several clinics for Colorado Springs Health Partners including Lake Pointe Medical Center, Colorado Springs Health Partners East, Colorado Springs Health Partners Briargate, and CSHP Monument. Jim managed the successful solicitation of Debt & Equity for each of these projects.
Jim has extensive experience in structuring complex transactions including multi-million-dollar corporate headquarter relocations, joint ventures, build-to-suits, lease restructures, traditional leases, and fee simple ownership. He has completed transactions in over 30 US cities. Jim has completed transactions with some of Colorado Springs’ most prominent and fastest-growing companies, including RT Logic, The O’Neil Group, JP Morgan Chase, Insurance Technologies, Colorado Springs Health Partners, Everest College, and TASC.
As Senior Vice President of Peregrine White Company of New York, a leading tenant advocacy firm in the northeast, Jim negotiated lease transactions for multiple Fortune 500 companies. In 1987, 1991 and 1994, Jim brokered one of ten largest transactions closed in Manhattan. Jim is a past Board Member and current volunteer for the Boys and Girls Club. Mr. DiBiase received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Villanova University.

Kevin McKenna, Multifamily Market Updates
Kevin has sold over 16,000 apartment units in Colorado Springs throughout his career, with a total consideration of over $2.0 billion. These transactions have spanned from 10 units to over 300 units for a full spectrum of clients, including institutions, private partnerships, family offices and individuals, nonprofits, lenders, and special servicers.
